Mission Statement
Hop Along Homes was created to meet the needs of small mammals, primarily domestic rabbits. Aside from food and water, all creatures need adaquate shelter, and that is where we come in. Here at Hop Along Homes, we provide high quality handcrafted homes. We promote indoor rather then outdoor shelter solutions. We promote free-roam if feasible. We promote proper care and maintanance of all animals, and strive to educate our customers to the best of our abilities on how to properly care for rabbits. Our goal is to improve animal welfare through our designs.
About Us
Hop Along Homes is a family owned and operated business. We are located in south east Michigan, in the city of St. Clair Shores. We have been building rabbit homes since 2007. We have perfected four different designs, including the Beginner Style, the Original Style, the Corner Style, and the Flemish Giant Style! We have done much research over the years, and have come up with these designs that are beneficial to rabbits. We feel that our fellow rabbit owners, and those alike, will be very happy with these designs, but most importantly the rabbit will love them!
Our journey of building rabbit homes began three years ago when we welcomed our first rabbit into our home, named Lucy. Since then we have rescued three other rabbits! We felt it was important to us that each of our rabbits have the comfort of space along with a nice look to go along with it to benefit our home. Unfortunaltey we were not able to find anything like this. We tried the "Starter Kits," which we felt were to small, we tried shelving cubes, which we felt were not sturdy or stable enough, and lastly, we tried indoor hutches but we found they were extremely unsafe and bulky. We realized that the only solution to our problem, was to build them ourselves! Now we are able to offer the same rabbit homes that our rabbits live in and benefit from, to you.
